Purpose and Scope of this Timeline: This timeline has been created under the ownership and control of the University of Virginia exclusively for postings by students (primarily students who are enrolled in EDLF 8651) and faculty. Its purpose is to highlight the history of higher education in the United States as illustrated by people, places, ideas and events.
